Pool of 42: 30th Anniversary Edition​

The Final Four kicks off tonight with #1 seeds as far as the eye can see. It seems the storylines are all focused on who has what it takes to beat Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils. Houston will get first crack at the upset* and continue their quest to bring home the program's first ever National Championship. The other semi-final pits Auburn against Florida in an all SEC matchup. The conference's primal fear of starting the tournament with 14 teams but not making the final can officially be put to rest. The women's final weekend started a day early. Overall #1 seed South Carolina only lost 3 games all season - to UCLA, Texas, and Connecticut - not coincidentally the other members of the Final Four. The Gamecocks easily dispatched Texas making a strong statement after the Longhorns had won their first matchup. The only non #1 seed left in college basketball, the UConn Huskies, also won easily, defeating UCLA. We will find out who can go The Distance in tomorrow's championship game.
In the Pool of 42, the women's games did little to adjust our standings, though it did make Will Sargisson a double leader in both most 1996 points and now sitting directly in the middle. 
The mystery prize will be revealed after the update from the women's championship game tomorrow night. It's still anyone's ballgame.
